Long Description: The Power To Be Basecamp project includes a series of buildings which will support the activities of connecting young people with disabilities to the natural world. The venues are configured for full inclusion and accessibility, while also addressing programmatic requirements for flexibility and the potential of hosting members of the public, conferences and social enterprise entrepreneurs. The project is very much tied to the natural surroundings, with specific buildings responding to forests, fields or water where appropriate. Considerations of both activities and the viewing of participants are vital, as are durability and operational efficiencies which govern. The project will pursue certification under the Living Building Challenge protocol and will be a benchmark for promoting health and wellness for occupants, as well as the systems and ecosystems that support our built environments.
